GUN FAMILIARIZATION CLASS

At Carolina Sporting Arms, we care about our customers. We are committed to promoting firearm responsibility, education and training to help ensure the protection and safety of our customers and their loved ones and to help provide the most enjoyment of their firearm experience.

As part of our commitment to training and firearm safety, we offer a ‘Gun Familiarization’ class. First-time or novice firearm buyers are encouraged to enroll in this course, but it is also offered to any interested party – anyone who is interested in learning more about personal protection, including important firearm dos and don’ts to increase the safety of you and your loved ones.

This course was created to teach you the basic safety principles associated with responsible gun ownership and use, as well as the skills required to pursue your sporting, hunting or personal protection interests. Course instruction includes:

Rules regarding the safe handling of firearms
Types of firearms, their parts and their operation
Ammunition, loading and unloading
Shooting fundamentals, including grips, sighting and firing
Trigger control
The responsibilities that come along with owning a firearm
North Carolina laws and codes
Shooting range safety and precautions
Handling misfires and clearing malfunctions
Corrective shooting advice
Shooting stance
Gun care and cleaning
Safe storage / locking your gun
Shooting time at a local range

Additional one-on-one instructor and course time is available, by appointment.
